Enjoy writing but need that little bit of inspiration and a goal to get started?
Why not enter this year?s Inspired? Get writing! competition? You can write in prose or poetry about anything that has inspired you from National Galleries of Scotland?s permanent collection: drawings, paintings, prints, sculpture, photography, or installation.
There are five categories for school pupils and adults. Three volumes of Inspired? Get writing! have been published, featuring winners from previous years, so you can check out the standard. For full details download the rules. There is also a resource pack which you might find helpful.

The competition is a joint project between the National Galleries of Scotland, the English-Speaking Union and Scottish Poetry. It is supported by the Scotsman and the Gordon Fraser Charitable Trust.
Closing date for entries is Friday 18 January 2013.
